The Neighborhood App Terms of Use

Effective August 7, 2026

These Terms govern use of The Neighborhood App, operated by Joshua Cohen (“The Neighborhood App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Community Standards.

What The Neighborhood App provides

The Neighborhood App provides tools for neighbors to request and offer practical help, communicate, build reputation, and participate in local communities. The Neighborhood App is a platform for community coordination; we are not the employer, agent, contractor, guarantor, or insurer of users.

The Neighborhood App is not an emergency service. Do not use The Neighborhood App to request police, fire, medical, crisis, or other emergency assistance. Contact the appropriate emergency service when immediate help is needed.

Your account

You are responsible for providing accurate information, protecting access to your account, and activity performed through it. Do not impersonate others, create accounts to evade enforcement, or misuse another person’s information.

User content and conduct

You retain responsibility for content you submit. You grant The Neighborhood App the limited rights needed to host, process, display, transmit, moderate, and otherwise operate that content as part of the service. You must follow the Community Standards and applicable law. We may restrict, remove, preserve, or review content and accounts when reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, abuse prevention, or enforcement.

Interactions with other users

Use judgment when meeting or helping people you do not know. You are responsible for deciding whether and how to interact, what tasks to accept, and what information to share. The Neighborhood App does not perform a guarantee of identity, qualifications, background, conduct, task quality, or safety merely because a user has a profile, points, badges, or reviews.

Neighborhood Points, reputation, and optional payments

Neighborhood Points and badges reflect participation and contribution in The Neighborhood App. They have no guaranteed cash value, and requesters do not spend points when asking for help. If optional payment or tipping features are introduced, additional terms may apply before those features are used.

Account suspension and deletion

We may restrict or terminate access for serious or repeated violations, safety risks, fraud, abuse, or legal requirements. You can initiate deletion from Profile → Safety & Account → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent, subject to limited retention required by law, security, fraud prevention, or preservation of de-identified records needed for other users’ legitimate histories.

Disclaimers and limitation

The Neighborhood App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, successful matches, user conduct, task outcomes, or the accuracy of user-provided content. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Neighborhood App and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service or interactions between users. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or liabilities that cannot legally be limited.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the service develops. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date and, when appropriate, notice in the service.
